What happens to the information you share with me through this website.
Last updated 16 October 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
I'm Ruth Loughton, a sole trader running Your Inner Changes. I'm responsible for (the "data controller" of) the personal information you share through this website.
Email: ruth@yourinnerchanges.com
A postal address for data enquiries is available on request by email.
What I collect and why
When you ask for a free call. Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, good times to contact you, and anything you choose to tell me in your message. I use this only to reply and arrange your call. Because you are getting in touch to ask me to contact you, the lawful basis is that you have asked me to take this step before we work together.
Health and personal details. You may choose to tell me something about your health or wellbeing. This is special category information, so I only use it with your explicit consent, given by including it in your message, and only to understand how I can help. You never have to share it through the website.
If you become a client. Session notes and contact details are kept so I can work with you safely and well. They are kept securely and confidentially.
Website visits. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are from and what device they use. It does not tell me who you are. If you decline, nothing is stored on your device. See Cookies below.
Server logs. The hosting provider records technical details such as IP address and browser type to keep the website secure. I do not use these to identify anyone.
Who else sees it
- Web3Forms delivers messages from the website forms to my email inbox.
- Google Workspace holds my email, including messages sent through the website.
- Cloudflare hosts the website.
- Google provides Google Analytics (only if you accept) and Google Meet for online sessions.
Some of these companies are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside the UK under the safeguards UK law requires. I never sell your information or use it for marketing.
How long I keep it
I keep information for no longer than I need to.
- Enquiries that do not lead to sessions: deleted after 12 months.
- Client records: kept for 7 years after our last session, in line with professional and insurance guidance, then securely destroyed.
- Analytics data: 14 months, then deleted automatically by Google.
Cookies
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you're happy for me to use analytics cookies. Until you choose, and if you decline, nothing is stored on your device and Google Analytics only receives an anonymous signal with no cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits.
Your choice itself is remembered in your browser so the banner does not keep asking. No advertising cookies are used.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Email me and I'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
