Habits, procrastination & emotional eating

Hypnotherapy to break unwanted habits

If willpower worked, you'd have changed it already. Let's work with the part of you that runs on autopilot.

Habits are run by the subconscious, which is why willpower alone rarely lasts. I use hypnotherapy to work directly with that automatic part of the mind to change habits such as procrastination, negative self-talk and emotional eating, by addressing the need the habit has been meeting.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Procrastinating on things that matter to you
  • A critical inner voice that runs on repeat
  • Eating for comfort, boredom or stress
  • Nail biting or other nervous habits
  • Starting strong, then slipping back into old patterns

How I can help

Every habit meets a need. Comfort eating soothes, procrastination protects you from failing, the inner critic tries to keep you safe. Until that need is met another way, the habit keeps coming back.

In hypnosis we find what the habit is doing for you and give your mind a better way to meet that need. For weight management we focus on the emotional roots of eating, so food stops being the answer to stress or sadness.

What can change

  • Choices that feel easy rather than effortful

  • A kinder inner voice

  • A calmer relationship with food

  • Following through on what you start

I was feeling a little stuck and non-specific when I started working with Ruth. She is naturally reassuring, warm and calming, and also brings a wonderful capability and solution-focused energy to her work. After a single session I felt a real shift in my confidence, focus and optimism.

Questions people ask

Can hypnotherapy help with weight loss?

Hypnotherapy can support weight management by addressing the emotional reasons behind eating habits. It works best alongside sensible changes to eating and activity rather than as a quick fix.

Can you help with procrastination?

Yes. Procrastination is often driven by fear of failure or perfectionism. We work on that underlying belief so getting started feels easier.
