Online vs In-Person Hypnotherapy: Does It Work Over Video?

The short answer is yes. Here's why, and how to decide which suits you.

Online hypnotherapy works as well as in person for most people, because hypnosis relies on the therapist's voice, your focus and a safe, quiet space, all of which carry over video. Online suits busy schedules and anyone further away. In person suits people who want a dedicated space away from home.

Why it works over video

Hypnosis isn't something done to you by touch or proximity. It's a state you enter by focusing on a voice and your own experience. A good video connection and headphones give you everything you need.

The benefits of online

No travel, easier to fit around work, and the chance to relax in your own familiar space. It also means you can work with the practitioner who suits you best, wherever they are.

The benefits of in person

Some people find it easier to switch off in a separate room, away from home distractions and family. If home doesn't feel calm or private, in person may suit you better.

Setting up for an online session

Find a quiet room, close other apps, switch your phone to silent, use headphones, and sit in a supportive chair. Have a glass of water nearby.

Choosing

Both are equally effective. I offer in-person sessions in Forest Row and online sessions by Google Meet, and you can switch between them.
